• Ask for a specific list of assessments that have been developed and contacts who can confirm development. If you are seeking evaluation services ask for copies of evaluation reports that have been produced. 

• Ask for an itemized list of tasks to be performed and a cost-breakdown by hours of service by task.

• Ask references if the consultant was able to provide services in a timely and professional manner.

• Finally, the consequence of choosing a measurement consultant who is not qualified, is misclassifying examinees as pass or fail.  For high stakes examinations, classification mistakes seriously impact the general public and the examinee.
